Deterministic tsunami hazard assessment and zoning approach using far-field and near-field sources: Study of Cixi County of Zhejiang Province, China

Investigating the potential tsunami hazard for coastal regions is helpful urban development and emergency evacuation. In this paper, we present a deterministic method assessment (DTHA) in terms of amplitude tsunami-induced currents. 21 extreme far-field transoceanic sources located Pacific Rim and, 14 near-field Ryukyu Trough Manila Trench are suggested. The Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data 50 m combined with breakwater adopted. analyzed based on velocity. risk Cixi County presented discussed. results highlight necessity combining currents protective role breakwaters. Further study manifests effects astronomical tide hazard. submarine topography consisted ridges trenches could trap energy change propagation direction. heterogeneous effect slip distribution investigated, indicating feasibility using uniform source DTHA.
